OUR PROCESS

Please read through our process prior to contacting us

1) Initial Planning

The path to every project is truly unique. Whether there is an existing structure or a piece of undeveloped land, we can advise you on the best steps forward. It is typical to work with multiple designers on a project, from the architect, to the landscape and interior designer. Collaborating to tie the finish elements of the building and landscaping together with the surroundings results in a harmonious finished product. We would be happy to refer you to an architect or designer we believe would be a good fit for your project. We encourage all clients to have a design professional involved in the project.

2) Pre-Construction Services Agreement

Proper planning in pre-construction is absolutely critical to the success of the project and all projects begin with the pre-construction phase. Having clear, detailed expectations before construction begins is a huge value to the project. Working as a team with the client and architect from the beginning helps to ensure that goals and values of the project align with the budget and schedule. Typically, three rounds of design and pricing take place before the construction contract is finalized. We use this period to dial in selections, identify and address any “unknowns”, build a construction schedule, and establish a tight working relationship between all parties. Depending on the complexity of the project, the planning stage can range from a couple months up to a year of before construction begins. We require a deposit for pre-construction services which will also hold your position in our construction schedule.

3) Construction Contract

There is nothing like watching a project come to life and evolve into a finished space! We take a hands-on approach to building and are vigilant with the on-site supervision of your project. Once construction begins you can expect ongoing thorough and timely communication. We closely track the budget and schedule, providing regular updates and meetings. Depending on the size of the project, the actual construction phase can take anywhere from 4 months to 2 years. Upon completion you will be provided with all maintenance requirements, construction documentation and warranty information. We will continue to be a resource for you after your project is complete.
